This Air Force Order (AFO) lays down the conditions of eligibility, ineligibility, selection procedure and other terms of recruitment of candidates as Officer Cadets (Offr Cdt) for commissioning in Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).
Conditions of Eligibility:
- The nationality of candidates for BAF Offr Cdt must be Bangladeshi by birth.
- The age will be 161/2 to 22 years for candidates of Regular Course and GD(P) Short Course.
- Marital status for candidates of Regular Course will be unmarried.
Physical Standards :
The minimum acceptable physical standards are as follows:
For Male Candidates:
- Height: Minimum 162.56 cm (64”).
- Weight: According to age and height chart of BAF.
- Chest: Minimum 81.28 cm (32”).
- Chest Expansion: Minimum 5.08 cm (2”).
- Eye:
Both eyes 6/6 and normal colour vision.
Both eyes of 6/6 (corrected vision) & 6/12 (uncorrected vision) and normal colour vision or as applicable as per AFO 160-123 for Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Air Defence Weapons Controllers (ADWC) branch.
For Female Candidates:
- Height: Minimum 162.56 cm (64”) for GD (P) candidates. Minimum 157.48 cm (62”) for other branch candidates.
- Weight: According to age and height chart of BAF.
- Chest: Minimum 71 cm (28”).
- Chest Expansion: Minimum 5.08 cm (2”).
- Eye: Both eyes 6/6 and normal colour vision. Both eyes of 6/6 (corrected vision) & 6/12 (uncorrected vision) and normal colour vision or as applicable as per AFO 160-123 for ATC and ADWC branch.

Eligibilities
The minimum educational qualifications of Offr Cdts for various branches will be as follows ( not all included) :
- General Duties (Pilot): Minimum GPA 4.5 in both Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Science with Mathematics (Math) as a compulsory or additional subject (minimum letter grade A)/ O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics.
- General Duties (Navigator): Minimum GPA 4.5 in both Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Science with Mathematics (Math) as compulsory or additional subject (minimum letter grade A)/ O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics. A Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics.
- Engineering (Engg): SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA 4.50 without 4th subject with minimum letter Grade ‘A’ in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. A Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
Direct Entry Flight Cadet
- SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA 4.50 without 4th subject with minimum letter Grade ‘A’ in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Minimum B Sc Engg: Minimum CGPA 3.00 out of 4.00 and Provisions of AFI 8/2014 dated 23 July 2014.
- Logistic (Log): SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA of 4.50 with minimum letter Grade ‘A’ in Physics and Mathematics. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics.
Direct Entry Flight Cadet
- SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA of 4.50 with minimum letter Grade ‘A’ in Physics and Mathematics. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects including minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in Physics and Mathematics. Minimum B Sc: Minimum CGPA 3.00 out of 4.00 in required discipline
- Administration (Admin): SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA of 4.50. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 2 subjects.
Direct Entry Flight Cadet
- SSC and HSC: Minimum GPA of 4.50. O Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 05 subjects. A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘B’ in 2 subjects. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum CGPA 3.00 out of 4.00
