International Rescue Committee is hiring Data Manager 2022 in Cox’s Baazar.
Highlights Of Key Responsibilities
The Manager – Data Management will perform a variety of tasks in leading the inception phase activities under the project including, but not limited to:
- Support Research specialist to inform the overall Bangladesh Country Scan, specifically in the area of Data Management Analysis for the Education Sector in Cox’s Bazar
- Support Manager – Research to develop KII data collection instruments including data system mapping
- Do data system mapping through reviewing existing types of data (on access, learning, continuity, well-being etc), how it is collected and by whom, and how it is used in assessment and monitoring.
- Work closely with country advisory committee in Cox’s Bazar to understand data system needs.
- Maintain ongoing engagement with country advisory committee in the area of Data Management
- Participate country advisory committee engagement workshops (in-person and virtual) in Cox’s Bazar to inform data management analysis.
- Build strong relationship with sector MIS foculs to understand the data nature, data gaps and data system.
- Identify data system gap through reviewing the country scan report and analyzing KII.
- Engage on conceptual framework revision with other consortium partners.
- Participate in individual partners check in.

The position Manager – Data Management will be responsible for data system mapping which will focus review of existing types of data (on access, learning, continuity, well-being etc), how it is collected and by whom, and how it is used in assessment and monitoring. The position will be directly reportable to Research Specialist and will closely work with Education Coordinator, Regional Education Technical Advisor and Regional Research Director.

Experience and Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum 5 (five) years of progressive experience in data management system and/or relevant practice.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, particularly managing research projects; meticulous attention to detail
- Solid organizational skills: the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure, dealing with competing priorities, in a fast-paced team environment;
- Interest in and ability to think and plan at the ‘big picture’ level;
- Fluent in English and Bangla, fluent in Rohingya, Chittagonian, or Burmese a plus.
- Flexible, independent, self-motivating, ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure
- Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
Specific Educational Qualification
- Master’s in statistics, economics, education or related field.
