CARE is looking for Deputy Chief of Party (COP), 2023 in Dhaka
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the COP in day-to-day program management and serve as Acting COP in their absence.
- Coordinate technical inputs on project activities. Hire and supervise technical staff, perform quality control, and ensure appropriate collaboration with partner project teams.
- Oversee fulfillment of all contract deliverables including technical and administrative reports.
- Manage and supervise the work of project team members, subcontractors, and expert consultants to achieve relevant project objectives and targets and ensure timely implementation of designated activities.
- Ensure project activities comply with donor regulations, project management policies, and CARE Bangladesh rules and regulations.
- Oversee activity monitoring, evaluation, learning and adaptation. Share information across the consortium to promote shared learning and shared leadership.
- Create management systems in line with CARE’s standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency with project needs.
- Communicate, implement, and ensure adherence to CARE and project policies, guidelines, and values; develop staff skills and knowledge; and facilitate supervise success and professional development whenever possible.
- Promote a team approach that emphasizes high-level performance, creative approaches, adaptive feedback and achievement of project goals in a cooperative, collegial atmosphere.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with key stakeholders, including government counterparts, grantees, private sector, and implementing partners.
- Manage, supervise, and mentor project technical staff across all offices in Bangladesh.
- Coordinate regularly with the COP on technical management and decision-making.

Eligibilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University degree required. Advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA, MPH, MD) in a relevant discipline strongly preferred. Work experience may substitute for advanced degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in international development as Deputy Chief of Party, Project Director or senior management experience on child marriage, adolescent empowerment, and/or sexual and reproductive health projects.
- Deep technical experience and understanding of child marriage, adolescent empowerment, SRH, and maternal and child health, and health systems strengthening programs targeting adolescents.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation; ability to produce and disseminate high quality written qualitative, quantitative, and narrative deliverables.
- Experience managing USAID cooperative agreements and/or contracts as well as the implementation of donor priorities including localization preferred.
- Experience managing complex activities involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions and consortium with a range of roles and capacities.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, Belonging and Inclusion with particular emphasis on youth participation and voice.
- Demonstrated commitment to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Harassment (PSEAH).
- Experience managing required programmatic and financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations, and partners.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff and teams.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Previous experience in project country and/or comparable international experience.
