Abt Associates is hiring Urban Health Program Assistant – LHSS Bangladesh 2022 in BANGLADESH
Key Roles And Responsibilities
The Urban Health Program assistants will work closely with the Regional Urban Health Coordinators (RUHC), who serve as the line manager for this position. The program assistants will be responsible for the day-to-day field work operations, facilitate collaboration efforts with partners and assist the RUHC with other assigned duties.
- Support the RUHC in organizing Health standing committee meetings at the city corporation/municipality level .
- Support logistical planning for Health Standing Committee meetings, trainings, and workshops.
- Attend and prepare draft reports for meetings, trainings, and workshops conducted in city corporations and municipalities.
- Support the relocation of overlapping satellite centers based on needs at the city corporation/municipality level
- Support record keeping and documentation of events.
- Prepare periodic meeting schedules of Health Standing Committee meetings at the city corporation/municipality level.
- Prepare documentation of primary health care monitoring visits at the city corporation/municipality level.
- Arrange and coordinate meetings with local government and other urban health stakeholders
- Enable a friendly and collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective support to the rest of the organization.
- Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of Abt’s HR policies, Abt Code of Conduct and its associated policies, and Core Humanitarians Standards of Accountability to ensure maximum protection to program beneficiaries.

Eligibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in public health, management, medicine, health administration, social sciences, or related field.
- Three to five years of relevant professional experience in complex urban health programs.
- Proven track record of working effectively with government counterparts at various levels in Bangladesh
- Familiarity with the GOB’s health structures and program budget structures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with USAID, local government officials, and other development partners.
- Proven track record of interacting across donor-funded projects, host country governments, and international agencies.
- Can work independently and take initiative to achieve desired results.
- Be a good team player
- Professional fluency in English and Bengali is required.
- Excellent Bengali writing skills are mandatory.
- Bangladesh nationals are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree + Two years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree
