ESU Bangladesh invites you to participate in the International Public Speaking Competition 2019. IPSC provides the participants an opportunity to develop the vital skills that enable them to speak with confidence in public. It enhances the public speaking and critical thinking skills. It will also give them the opportunity to showcase them in an international competitive arena.

The competition will be at two levels: national and international. The international level, which will include champions of the national competition, will be held in London. The national level competition in Bangladesh will have the following features:

The theme of the topic will be: NATURE IS A COMMON LANGUAGE

Outline Programme on the day of Competition:

Registration of the Competitors: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Mentoring/briefing: 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Final preparation: 11:15 p.m. to 11: 45 a.m.
Competition including lunch: 11:45 a.m. onwards.

6 best performers will be chosen to participate in the 2nd and Final Round of the national level of the competition to be held sometime in the 1st week of March 2019. Time, place and other relevant details will be made known at the end of the 1st Round of the Competition.

The champion of the national round will participate in the International Public Speaking Competition which brings the best young speakers from all over the world to London for a week of cultural exchange and public speaking contests. Established in 1980, it now reaches over 600,000 young people in more than 50 countries across the globe, showcasing the highest standard of public speaking, while giving delegates an opportunity to meet and engage with other young people of different backgrounds and nationalities.

Eligibilities

  • The participant must be current student and as a proof of that, a certificate must be produced from the Head of the Institute.
  • S/he must be born on or any date in between 18 May 1999 and 13 May2003.
  • S/he, if selected, should be willing and spared by the Institute to participate in the international event in London from 13– 17 May 2019 (all expenses for the participant in London will be borne by the ESU).
  • S/he must make her/himself available to receive further mentoring/coaching organised by the ESU Bangladesh after the national level competition.

Print and fill out the application form given in the apply link. Participate directly by submitting a hard copy of the application form on the event day( 26th January) at the event venue.

Date of the 1ST Round of Competition:26 January, 2019.
