  • India

Bangladesh Youth Delegation to India 2020 this initiative is part of the Government of India’s policy to further strengthen people-to-people contacts and exchanges between India and Bangladesh.

Members of the delegation are young men and women drawn from diverse institutions of Bangladesh and include doctors, engineers, management graduates, business people, entrepreneurs, journalists, musicians, and students.

India was the first country to recognize Bangladesh as a separate and independent state and established diplomatic relations with the country immediately after its independence in December 1971. The relationship between India and Bangladesh is anchored in history, culture, language and shared values of secularism, democracy, and countless other commonalities between the two countries.

The relations between India and Bangladesh are based on fraternal ties and reflective of an all-encompassing partnership based on sovereignty, equality, trust and understanding that goes far beyond a strategic partnership. In the last couple of years, the two countries have consolidated their relations resulting in a comprehensive institutional framework to promote bilateral cooperation in all areas.
