Job Opportunity as National Cash Programming Officer at IOM Cox's Bazar 2020
  • Chittagong

IOM is hiring Humanitarian Access Adviser 2020 in Chittagong.

Following the escalation of violence in Rakhine State, Myanmar, on 25 August 2017, over 740,000 Rohingyas have fled across the border into Bangladesh, resulting in a severe humanitarian crisis. The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in support of the Government of Bangladesh, has been mandated to support coordination of humanitarian activities in Cox’s Bazar, alongside United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator, as Strategic Executive Group (SEG) Co-Chairs.

The Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG) Secretariat supports this function for the Rohingya refugee response, providing coordination and information management services to operational agencies responding to the refugee crisis. The ISCG Secretariat is an inter-agency team, staffed with contributions from IOM, UNHCR, World Food Programme (WFP), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as well as other agencies.

Under the overall guidance of the SEG Co-Chairs, administrative supervision by the Chief of Mission (CoM) of IOM Bangladesh, and direct supervision of the Senior Coordinator for the Rohingya refugee crisis response (ISCG Senior Coordinator), the successful candidate will lead humanitarian access coordination both in the field and in Dhaka to ensure improved access outcomes for humanitarian actors.

The successful candidate will initially be based in the ISCG Secretariat Office located in Cox’s Bazar, with frequent travel to Dhaka.
