WFP is looking for Programme Policy Officer (Head of Resilience), CST II,2025 in Cox’s Bazar
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee operational design and implementation of resilience-building programme in the camps and host communities. Expand resilience-building programme throughout the Cox’s Bazar district, with integration into the government social safety net programmes, DDP and other priorities through strengthening capacities of the government and local communities.
- Develop a mid/long term resilience strategy in the camps and host communities by making synergies among existing cash-for-asset activities and initiating innovative approaches into one resilience-building programme.
- Provide technical advice on new initiatives, in climate resilience programming including Forecast-based Financing, anticipatory action, climate risk insurance support for urban poor, and promotion of market linkages, with a seasonal livelihood programming lens, ensuring timely implementation of the initiatives
- Design and implement market development and linkage strategies that support smallholder farmers, micro-enterprises, and value chain actors, which should be effectively linked to the camp market operated by WFP’s e-voucher partners.
- Spearhead innovative approaches in resilience-building, including the use of digital technology, financial inclusion mechanisms, and adaptive social protection.
- Ensure coherence and integration of resilience-building activities within WFP’s broader portfolio including the World Bank project, EPR, multiple engineering initiatives, an environment and energy initiative (SAFE PLUS).
- Provide support and technical advice on the World Bank project as needed and closely coordinate with the World Bank project team to create synergies for resilience-building in the camps.
- Lead and manage WFP’s engagement with key NGOs and partners; review proposals and provide technical feedback to improve their deliverables under a resilience-building programme. Build capacities of local NGO partners.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
- Education: Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in Agriculture, Environmental Science, International Development, Economics, Climate Science, Disaster Risk Management, or any other related field is preferable.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of professional experience in development and resilience-building programmes, humanitarian or any other relevant operations/programmes.
- Language: Fluency (Level C) in spoken and written in English language.
