HSBC is hiring Manager, Business Financial Crime Risk, Wholesale COO, Wholesale Banking (WSB) (Vice President) 2022 in Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify financial crime risks (AML, Sanctions, AB&C & Fraud) within WSB, utilising available tools / working with Control Owners Risk Stewards, and other functions as appropriate. Undertake all requisite actions to either mitigate unacceptable risk or risk accept through governance.
  • Adherence & oversight to all FCR procedures. Operate WSB’s FCR governance in line with established frameworks to effectively use MI and issues management processes to drive adherence to risk thresholds and improve performance;
  • Maintain and update relevant WSB LoBP’s in line with global direction and local regulatory requirements;
  • Oversight of controls owners performance and activities to meet risk and cost standards, notably adherence to CDD triggers and review completion rates vs AML policy and quality standards;
  • Drive culture of WSB staff risk awareness to immediately escalate UARs and/or financial crime concerns, adhere to CSEM requirements and customer exit procedures, ensure timely completion of Surveillance FCR risk Triggers and Requests for Information and undertake sufficient FCR due diligence for all new customers and on-boarding to Global Standards.
  • Demonstrate that consideration of the customer is a primary driver of decision-making and behaviours. Drive material improvements in CDD customer journey through simplification / streamlining to minimize impact on colleagues and customers.
  • Support growing the business in a sustainable, responsible and compliant manner while operating within allocated Financial Crime Risk’ cost plans/budgets.
  • Foster strong collaboration with Functions (including Digital Business Services/FCC) and other Global Businesses to identify and deliver synergies that will realize cost saves, risk mitigation and revenue opportunities for the group whilst equally ensuring favorable customer and/or colleague experience.
  • Create an environment where co-creation of best practises are welcome and encouraged. Support the Co-Create initiatives to improve ways of working in country; collaborate and communicate effectively to delivery tangible results for our customers and colleagues.
  • Identify training needs and provide training to relevant stakeholders related to group policies and mitigation of risk related to Money Laundering, Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption and Fraud
  • Ensure projects and programmes adhere to regulatory requirements, WSB & Group policies and standards and minimise general risk to the Group
  • Work closely with Financial Crime Threat Mitigation teams for enabling compliance related investigations and law enforcement enquiries and RFIs for effective FCR mitigation and regulatory engagements.
  • Prepare and submit management information (MI) and reports to senior management and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with 2nd Line of Defense Review teams, 3rd Line of Defense Audit, Group/Regional assurance teams, issue closure validation team, etc. on wholesale banking business financial crime risk related reviews and audits.
  • Implement recommendations made by internal / external auditors and external regulators in a timely manner

Eligibilities

  • Bachelor degree from a public/private university preferably in Business background
  • Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills
  • Strong networking skills with functional teams in country, regional teams and teams in other ASP International Markets
  • Clear ability to delicately handle and resolve inter/intra departmental issues and in handling external regulators
  • Experience of driving strategic change in a matrix environment
  • Extensive knowledge on processes and products in Wholesale Banking.
