AUWDS aims to ensure continuity of this co-curricular excellence by bringing together the most diverse all-female organizing committee of Bangladesh to organize the AUW Inter-Varsity Debate Championship (AUW IV) 2020.
AUW Debating Society is always promoting leadership and diplomacy in these empowered women. Over the last year, the AUWDS has organized our signature Inter-Department Debate Championship, endless workshops, mock-debates, practice sessions, and made sure all the members of the club get an opportunity to participate in renowned national and international debate tournaments.
The AUWDS ensures excellence in its members’ ability to be debaters, diplomats, negotiators, and of course leaders. They have ensured that all members are always able to take over all ruling formats of debating, e.g. Asian Parliamentary Debate, British Parliamentary Debate, and so on.
It is one of the most reputed International Debate Tournaments organized in Bangladesh, which attracts an audience of over 250 people. Throughout 6 rounds, 32 teams will debate in a British Parliamentary Format tournament to address the rising concerns of today’s world. The debaters, adjudicators, and core-adjudication department all come together to fuel the essence of women empowerment in our reputed university.

The aim of AUW IV 2020 is to ensure participation of women from vulnerable backgrounds in leadership positions, to help them learn the values of professionalism and work ethics, encourage the youth of Bangladesh to engage in civil discussions about what can be done in today’s world to deal with the issues hand-on, and to empower our community of powerful women throughout the process. AUW IV 2020 takes pride in ensuring the participation of women from South Asia, South East Asia, and the Middle East from RMG sectors, war refugees, underprivileged women, etc in major leadership positions of organizing this event.
