1) Junior (Classes 5-7)

EVENT DETAILS:

ASTRONOMY OLYMPIAD:
The participating students are to answer a number of comprehensive questions based on Astronomy. The questions will be both in multiple choice format and mathematical problem-solving type.

EARTH OLYMPIAD:
Just like the Astronomy Olympiad, the Earth Olympiad will follow the same rules just based on Earth and environment. The questions will be both in multiple choice format and comprehensive problem-solving type.

SCI-FI STORY WRITING
Write the most interesting and relevant short science-fiction story based on Astronomy or Space. It will be an online event and all submissions will be taken via e-mail. No written submissions will be accepted. Top 10 submissions will be selected for publishing in the club’s annual magazine, DURBIN.

WALL MAGAZINE COMPETITION:
Have you done a wall magazine on Earth or Space before? Why don’t you give it a shot?

Topic: Anything related to Earth or Astronomy.

Team Members: Maximum 3; No institutional boundaries. You can team up with participants from different institutions but in same category.

SCRAPBOOK MAKING COMPETITION:
Get your scissors and creative genius ready for making the most glamorous scrapbook your imagination could fathom. Make the most creative and concise scrapbook for the win.
Topic: An Anything related to Earth or Astronomy.

ECO-PROJECT DISPLAY
Get into a team of three and make a visionary project how you see earth in your perspective or how you could make it a better place. The more relevant the better.
Topic: Anything regarding Earth and environment.
Team Members: Maximum 3; The participants must from same institution.

ECO AND SPACE BUZZ:
Young Quizzers unite for one of the most comprehensive quizzing events, the Eco and Space Buzz. It will be an MCQ based written test with half the questions based on Earth and environment and the rest half from Astronomy. The event will be conducted in two rounds, the preliminaries and the final round. 6-8 teams will qualify for the Final Buzzer Round.
Team members: Can participate individually or in teams of Maximum 3 in one team; No institutional boundaries. You can team up with participants from different institutions but in same category.

ASTRONOMICAL SHOWCASE:
Just like any other project display competitions, make a scientific project on Space and Astronomy.
Topic: Anything related to Space and Astronomy.
Team Members: Maximum 3; No institutional boundaries. You can team up with participants from different institutions but in same category.

STAR MAP:
A sky map will be provided. The participants will have to identify the marked constellations and stars.

EARTH TALK
Its and extempore speech event. Speak for a definite amount of time on the topic you pick randomly from a huge collection related to Earth and Environment.
Time Limit: 2 minutes

POWER POINT PRESENTATION:
Make and deliver a power point presentation from selected topics based on Earth or Astronomy. You will be judged based on both the quality of the slides and the delivery of presentation.
Team members: Must have 2 per team.(MAX)

Earth and Astronomy Workshops:
Two workshops, one on Earth and the other on Space will be conducted each on the two days of the fest respectively by prominent instructors and mentors.
