Job Responsibilities
ERM Operations & Risk Register Quality
- Collect, validate, and update country/entity risk registers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistent application of BI’s risk taxonomy.
- Challenge unclear ratings, identify missing external risks, verify mitigation viability, and follow up on overdue actions.
- Maintain up-to-date risk datasets (registers, fraud/incident logs, action trackers) and ensure timely escalation of material issues.
Risk Reporting & Analytics
- Consolidate and prepare risk data, dashboards, and operational summaries for recurring reporting cycles and committee inputs.
- Conduct analysis of risk trends, mitigation effectiveness, and country-level indicators (e.g., macroeconomic factors) to support decision-making.
- Review vertical/entity risk packs to identify data gaps and inconsistencies and provide actionable feedback.
Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve risk management templates, trackers, and digital tools, ensuring usability, accuracy, and uniform adoption across BI.
- Support with the alignment of tools and processes to the revamped risk approach.
- Support system migrations (e.g., spreadsheet to shared platforms) and participate in tool testing, troubleshooting, and user guidance.
Capacity Building & Risk Culture
- Deliver training, onboarding, and coaching for Country/Entity risk focal points on risk identification, taxonomy, appetite, mitigation planning, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate periodic check-ins with risk coordinators, reinforcing reporting discipline and helping resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Support development of risk communication materials and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Support in building a risk community across the organization working through risk coordinators/managers.
Cross-Functional & Assurance Collaboration
- Support joint deep dives and assurance exercises with other BEFs through data preparation, documentation, and action tracking.
- Provide technical inputs to donor queries, proposals, and entity/BEF risk documentation as requested.
- Facilitate logistical and documentation support for risk governance meetings (agenda prep, minutes, follow-up).
Safeguarding
- Promote safeguarding standards across all risk activities and ensure adherence to reporting and escalation procedures

Eligibilities
Job Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business studies- Finance, Economics, Development Studies, International Development
Professional Degree / Certification:
- Risk Management/Audit Related Certificates Preferred (e.g., IRM, ISO 31000, CIA/CRMA or equivalent).
Experience and Knowledge:
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in risk management, Finance, audit/controls, compliance, governance reporting, or analytics in complex organisations (INGO/NGO, financial services, NBFI, FMCG, Telco, or similar).
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical skills in risk registers, risk taxonomy, KRIs, action tracking, and operational reporting.
- Advanced MS Office/Gsuit for data analysis, dashboarding, and validation; ability to produce accurate, committee-ready outputs.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving; ability to challenge assumptions constructively and recommend practical improvements.
- Strong coordination and follow-up discipline across multiple stakeholders; ability to influence without authority.
- Strong written communication and documentation; able to translate data into clear, actionable messages.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and safeguarding mindset; willingness to travel as required
