Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Work with office leaders to develop and maintain IJM’s profile and brand in Bangladesh across traditional and digital media platforms that support development of key external relationships and program success.
- Ensure that IJM Bangladesh’s content aligns with IJM Global & Regional messaging & branding guidelines.
Content Development
- Manage the production of compelling story packages (narratives and images) that can be shared on IJM’s website and social media platforms.
- Develop yearly communications and public relations targets & goals to scale the narrative on commercial sexual exploitation of children in Bangladesh.
- Develop story resources for public and internal uses by IJM Bangladesh, Regional and Global Communications teams.
- Support the development of compelling commentaries, press statements, op-ed articles, news features and other communication materials.
- Support in creating, reviewing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
Networking & Partnership
- Support crisis preparation planning and response.
- Serve as the day-to-day media contact for the IJM Bangladesh office for national media and for international media as assigned, responding to media inquiries quickly and effectively.
- Establish and develop relationships with Government PROs, journalists, and other strategic public contacts.
Policies and Procedures
- Develop Communications and Media guideline documents for IJM Bangladesh.
- Develop media relations policies and internal processes.
- Communication
- Develop messaging guidelines that are clear, concise, honest, and consistent with IJM’s global communication strategy and guidelines
Training and Development
- Facilitate orientation and training for staff on communications and media guidelines, messaging, and interview and speaking techniques.
Documentation, Reporting & Data Management
- Actively monitor, compile, and analyze news related to CSEC, trafficking, forced labor, migration, and other related topics from print, broadcast, and digital media (websites and social media).
- Collate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports from media and other relevant agencies.
- Support preparation of reports on IJM’s programs that build understanding of the impact and importance of the work.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field;
- 5-6 years of professional experience in news and feature story writing, internal messaging development;
- Experience coordinating or managing communications or storytelling projects;
- Experience working and networking with the media
Technical Competencies:
- Exceptional ability in writing, storytelling and copy-editing.
- Photography and video clip shooting skills.
- Good grasp of digital media – including news sites, websites, blogs, Facebook, Instagram and X.
- Portfolio of excellent published work that demonstrates expertise, creativity and ability to fit varying audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- Disciplined with priorities, excellent time management and ability to work effectively under deadline pressures; proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks with competing demands under tight deadlines.
