International Rescue Committee is looking for Manager – Emergency Preparedness and Response 2025 in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments, facility visits, and equipment checks for EPR readiness.
  • Implement EPR strategy; develop benchmarks, training, IEC materials, and proposals.
  • Lead monitoring, data analysis, and quarterly checklist reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity-building for partners.
  • Plan and deliver trainings, drills, and simulations for emergency teams.
  • Coordinate DRR/Climate messaging, supplies, logistics, and ambulance readiness.
  • Update response plans, contingency planning, and preparedness initiatives.
  • Monitor implementation, budgets, and targets; adjust as needed.
  • Lead procurement/distribution and supervise EPR/DRR teams.
  • Coordinate with authorities, CiCs, disaster committees, and stakeholders.
  • Represent IRC in coordination forums at local, field, and national levels.
  • Liaise for permissions, ensure prepositioning, and maintain community partnerships.
  • Compile assessments, activity, situation, incident, and risk reports.
  • Conduct gap analysis; document case stories and evidence.
  • Support communication materials for preparedness and response.
  • Quarterly updates on surge teams, facilities, and preparedness.
  • Maintain Humanitarian Response/EPP and integrate DRR across sectors.
  • Ensure supplies, logistics, and ambulances for response.
  • Conduct needs assessments; develop response plans, budgets, and MEAL.
  • Provide SITREP loss/damage reports and maintain coordination.

Eligibilities

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience implementing emergency preparedness and disaster risk reduction programs, ideally in refugee and host communities.
  • Experience with UN agencies or NGOs and in both emergency and development contexts.
  • Willingness to work in emergency situations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across program and operations teams.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles, IRC values, and objectives.
  • Good command of English; knowledge of Chittagonian is a plus.
  • University degree in Disaster Management, Development Studies, Social Science, or related field.
