BRAC is Hiring Senior Manager, Grants and Compliance, USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Activity (BAMA) 2024 in Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Grants and Compliance Advisor to implement a high-quality grants program including managing multiple grants cycles annually.
  • Support grants design in collaboration with Maitree’s technical and MEL teams and BRAC’s relevant sector teams.
  • Monitor and support the use of grants management tools and the Grants Management System to ensure accurate tracking and grants reporting.
  • Lead grant coordination with sub-recipients, including monthly reviews, budget management, and closeout meetings in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations by providing relevant training to programs, operations, MEL, and other cross-cutting teams.
  • Provide capacity strengthening support to local partner organizations, including mentoring and training on reporting and proposal development.
  • Support subgrant processes with local and international partners, including due diligence and review of draft subgrant agreements.
  • Supervise Award Cycle and Subgrantee Manager and Grants and Compliance Senior Officers and ensure proper oversight.
  • Coordinate with the Global Resource Mobilization and Partnership (GRP) unit to support sub-award grant cycle management and resolve project cycle issues as needed.
  • Support the Grants Advisor to raise compliance issues proactively with Maitree’s leadership.
  • Keep the Grants Advisor and project leadership informed of any anticipated challenges in meeting grants targets, including any issues with report submission and budget variances.
  • Serve as an internal resource on USAID and USG rules and regulations.
  • Review and ensure alignment of grants procedures with BRAC’s guidelines and policies and compliance with USAID requirements.
  • Support the Grants Advisor with special projects as necessary.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so

Eligibilities

Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of US Government federal acquisition laws and regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and USAID Acquisition Regulation (AIDAR).
  • Conversant and knowledgeable about local laws, regulations, rules of business, government functions and structure.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office, Slack, Salesforce or other collaboration platforms.
  • Experience working with USAID funded projects required.
  • Fluent in Bangla and working proficiency in English.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field preferably in Business Administration, Finance, International Development or International Relations.
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum seven years (07) of demonstrated experience in leading financial and grants management of USAID-funded programs.
