Digital Utopia: An Ideal Online World for Girls- A Mobile Short Film Competition 2020
CALL FOR ACTION: “Digital Utopia: An Ideal Online World for Girls- A Mobile Short Film Competition” is an attempt at bringing a female-centric vision of an ideal, safe, and secure online world for women in one frame for this year’s International Girl’s Day, organized by WeMen View and Plan International Bangladesh as a part of “Equality Awards 2020”. Let’s create an online world where we thrive as healthy, equal, and complete members of all communities while fostering respect, inclusiveness, and integrity. Through the medium of film, we explore the awareness of the dynamic and powerful roles of women from any avenue.
Plan International’s theme for the celebration of the day is “Online Freedom- Digital Safety and Security Of Girls“- to raise the issue of abuse, harassment, and violence females face in digital and online platforms.
There will be no fees for participation.
During the submission process, they will evaluate if the submitted shot-films fulfill the mentioned criteria. The short-films cannot show affiliation to any particular political party, degrade any community, show any nudity. If any short-film has such content, that submission will not be accepted.
By submitting the short-film, all applicants agree that the videos developed will be co-owned by Plan International Bangladesh, WeMen View, and the participant; the videos may be used by each of these entities in the future with proper logos and credits.

- Winners will get:
1st position: 10,000 BDT prize money
2nd position: 7,000 BDT prize money
3rd position: 5,000 BDT prize money - 5 films will be awarded “Honorary Mention”
- *All 8 films will receive Certificate of Recognition from Plan International Bangladesh and WeMen View.

- Gender: All genders (females/AFAB are encouraged)
- Medium: Mobile device
- Type: Stop motion, videography, animation
- Length: 3-10 minutes
- Language: English/Bengali
- Subtitle: Not mandatory but appreciated.
