By linking them up with Swedish actors in the field, they establish relationships that are of mutual benefit. They present Sweden as a good country to live in, in order to attract students, researchers, and talents. They bring to life the narrative about contemporary Sweden – the society that has produced numerous Swedish successes in the fields of innovation, sustainability, and creativity. They act in dialogue with the opinion-formers, decision-makers, and talents of today and tomorrow, both at home and abroad.

Meetings and discussions also take place in digital channels, at Swedish embassies around the world and at the SI’s Swedish Cultural Centre in Paris.

Another area of work involves developing cooperation around the Baltic Sea and Eastern Europe. Robust, long-term partnerships improve the chances of achieving sustainable development.

Eligibilities

  • You must have demonstrated work experience prior to 9 February 2020. The experience may be demonstrated through current or previous full- or part-time employment, paid or unpaid internship, volunteer assignments, as well as through positions as chairperson or board member at student unions or student organizations.
  • You will be required to certify the experience in your application.
  • Strong work experience within the field of environmental and social sustainability, innovation, responsibility in management, or sustainable economic growth will be prioritized, especially experience from civil society or the public sector.
  • Be liable to pay tuition fees to Swedish universities, according to the information at University Admissions.
  • Have paid the application fee for master’s programs at University Admissions on time before 3 February 2020.
  • Be admitted (including conditionally admitted) to one of the eligible master’s programs by 3 April 2020.
  • You must have demonstrated leadership experience from your current or previous employment.
  • You must be a citizen of a country that is eligible for the scholarship program.
  • There are also conditions regarding dual citizenship, previous residence and studies in Sweden, and more.

Application Process

  • A motivation letter: you must use the Visby Programme form for motivation letter 2020/2021. You need to fill out and upload the motivation letter as a PDF-file on the application portal during the application period.
  • A Curriculum Vitae (CV): you must use the Visby Programme form for CV 2020/2021 and the CV should not exceed three pages. It’s up to you to decide which parts are relevant for your application. Additional pages will not be considered.
  • Letter(s) of reference: you must use the Visby Programme form for letter of reference 2020/2021. It is mandatory to submit one letter of reference, but you may submit two. At least one letter of reference must be based on some type of work experience. The letters should be signed by the referee and stamped with an official stamp of the referred organization or a notary office. The form(s) should be typed, then printed, signed and stamped; and then be uploaded as one PDF-file. You can find more information in the instructions in the form and in their FAQ.
  • Proof of work and leadership experience: you must use the Visby Programme form for proof of work and leadership experience 2020/2021. The work and leadership form should be signed by the referee and stamped with an official stamp of the referred organization or a notary office. The form(s) should be typed, then printed, signed and stamped; and then be uploaded as one PDF-file. You can find more information in the instruction in the form and in their FAQ.
  • A copy of your passport: your personal data including name, citizenship, and photograph must be shown clearly. Copy of passport should be included together with the CV as a last fourth page. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a copy of your valid passport to include.
