The Centre for Research on Work and Organisations is a hub for research-active staff from the Department of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour at Southampton Business School to respond critically to academic, policy, and practitioner debates around a broad range of work- and organizations-related issues.

The Centre has five main objectives:

  • To stimulate research discussions and knowledge exchange.
  • To engage in both theoretical and empirical research, and publish it in relevant, reputable, and high-quality outlets.
  • To engage in research that can have an impact on individuals, policymakers, organisations, and societies.
  • To receive funding for its members’ research through research councils and other funders, as well as through collaborations with business and professional bodies.
  • To provide a knowledge foundation for research-informed teaching.

Benefits

  • Tuition fees will be covered by the program
  • A stipend (living allowance) of £17,668 tax-free per year for up to 3 years

 

Eligibilities

  • A strong research proposal
  • A 2:1 undergraduate honors degree in a relevant subject
  • A master of science at merit level in a relevant subject
    You must also give a satisfactory interview.

Note: If English is not the applicant’s first language, they’ll need an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum level of 7.0 with a 6.5 in writing, reading, speaking, and listening.

    • indicate the specific subject area you’re applying for in the funding section
