Lund University is one of Europe’s oldest, largest and most prestigious universities, consistently ranking among the world’s top 100 universities. Lund University has eight faculties, with additional campuses in the cities of Malmö and Helsingborg, with 42,000 students in 302 different programmes and 2,046 freestanding courses. The University has some 600 partner universities in over 70 countries and it belongs to the League of European Research Universities as well as the global Universitas 21 network.

Two major facilities for materials research are at Lund University: MAX IV, which is a world-leading[peacock term] synchrotron radiation laboratory – inaugurated in June 2016, and European Spallation Source (ESS), a new European facility that will provide up to 100 times brighter neutron beams than existing facilities today, to be opened in 2023.

As a top 100 university and ranked in the top 0.4% of universities in the world, Lund University attracts high achieving students from across the globe. The Lund University Global Scholarship programme seeks to recognize these students by awarding academic excellence grants.

Benefits

  • A selective, merit-based scholarship to recognise top academic students from outside the EU/EEA
  • Scholarship grants may cover 25%, 50%, 75% or up to 100% of the tuition fee.
  • The scholarship percentage awarded depends on the budget available to the programme/faculty.

Eligibilities

  • You must be a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and are required to pay a tuition fee
  • You have made a complete application for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies at Lund University in a regular application round for a minimum of one semester of study (30 ECTS).
  • Note that priority is given to students who have ranked a programme at Lund University as the first choice in their application at universityadmissions.se.

  • The application period for the LU Global Scholarship will open in early February 2018 for studies starting in autumn 2018.

     

  • Twice a year – usually in February and September – current Lund University students are invited to apply for University and national scholarships.

     

  • Mid-October to 15 January for studies starting in the autumn semester (August/September). Note that a few programmes do not open for applications until 1 December.

     

  • Early June to 15 August for studies starting in the spring semester (January). Note that only a few programmes start in the spring semester each year.
