The Erasmus University Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Erasmus University Rotterdam. The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in Holland.

Eligibilities

  • Your nationality is non-EEA and you pay the institutional tuition fee;
  • You are an excellent student according to your faculty’s standard;
  • You are applying for a full-time bachelor or master at Erasmus University Rotterdam;
  • You didn’t obtain a diploma at an education institution in the Netherlands;
  • You have never been enrolled as a full degree student at an educational institution in the Netherlands;
  • You can only receive the Holland Scholarship Erasmus University once;
  • You meet the specific requirements set by the faculty that offers the programme that you have applied for. Check your faculty’s website for more information.
Eligible Regions: India, Bangladesh, Japan, China, Russia, Korea, Pakisthan, Indinasia, Saudi Arabia etc.

Application Process

The application procedure differs per faculty. Please check your own faculty for more information on the application.

Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB) – Bachelor Students. 

The application consists of a motivation letter (one page maximum) where the candidate answers two questions:

  • Why do you need the scholarship?
  • Why should you be considered an excellent applicant?
    The answer to the latter question can, but does not have to, include grades.

The application for the scholarship must:

  • be submitted before April 30 and after your application for a degree programme of ESSB has been deemed complete and taken into assessment;
  • be emailed to [email protected] (Psychology students) or [email protected] (MISOC students), the email subject (and the motivation letter) should contain:
    the word combination “Holland Scholarship”;
    student number;
    name of degree programme you are applying for.

 

Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB) – Master Students

The application consists of a motivation letter (one page maximum) where the candidate answers two questions:

  • Why do you need the scholarship?
  • Why should you be considered an excellent applicant?
    The answer to the latter question can, but does not have to, include grades.

The application for the scholarship must:

  • be submitted before April 30 and after your application for a degree programme of ESSB has been deemed complete and taken into assessment;
  • be emailed to [email protected], the email subject (and the motivation letter) containing
    • the word combination “Holland Scholarship”;
    • student number;
    • name of degree programme you are applying for.

In the application letter please add the following information as a header. Your application will not be considered if this information is not filled out:
First name (as in passport)

  • Last name
  • Student number
  • Email address
  • Nationality
  • Country of current residence
  • Programme at EUR you have been admitted to
  • Your grade point average/ average grade during studies. Please point out what the maximum number of point in the grade scale is.
  • Country of former education
  • Educational institution(-s) you hold/ are going to obtain degree(-s) from
  • Are you applying for Holland Scholarship?
  • Are you applying for a tuition waiver?
  • If the above two questions have been answered positively, which one do you have a preference for?
    Please be aware that a scholarship can only be granted after being admitted to the Master’s programme. In case you have not yet finished your bachelor studies, you may get a conditional offer.

Erasmus MC (EMC)

You can apply by sending a letter of motivation, your CV plus grades list in one Pdf to Ms. Gonny Pasaribu, e-mail: [email protected]. Please use the following file name: <Last Name, First Name (name of research master).pdf>.

Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC)

Applicants can apply for the Holland Scholarship any moment between 1 November and 30 April.

Application procedure

1. Write an application letter (one page maximum)
Start the letter by giving the following information:

Subject: “Application for Holland Scholarship”.
Full name and student number.
Name of the ESHCC bachelor or master programme for which you applied.
Subsequently, answer the following two questions:

Why would you need a Holland Scholarship?
Why would you deserve a Holland Scholarship? Include a description of academic excellence and if applicable other merits.

2. Send your application letter in pdf as an email attachment
Send the pdf to [email protected] no later than 30 April. The subject of the email should read as follows:
Holland Scholarship + last name + student number + name of the ESHCC programme for which you applied

3. List all required personal details in the email itself
First name (as in passport).
Last name.
Student number.
Name of the programme at ESHCC for which you applied.
GPA of your previous education. Please also mention the minimum and maximum number of points in the pertaining grade scale. (For example: GPA 8, on a scale of 1 – 10.)
Please note:

We can only take your application for the Holland Scholarship into consideration if it is complete and meets all of the above requirements.
You may only apply if you have already submitted your application for one of ESHCC’s programmes.
