The Shanghai Summer School (BRICS Program) 2017 by Fudan University aims to provide students and young researchers from BRICS countries an opportunity to better understand BRICS, China, Shanghai and Fudan University.

Introduction to the Curriculum:

The program provides the participants with aroundlectures, consisting of three modules: “Global Governance and Cooperation among BRICS”, “China’s Politics and Diplomacy” and “Happy in Shanghai”, among which “Global Governance and Cooperation among BRICS”, “China’s Politics and Diplomacy” take 4 credits.

The curriculum is listed as below:

3. Global multipolarity and BRICS Cooperation
4. Industries Cooperation and development among BRICS
5. Global energy cooperation and BRICS countries

7. New development of Brazil with other BRICS Countries
8. International cyberspace governance and data sovereignty of BRICS
9. Colloquium: BRICS Pragmatic Cooperation

3. New development of China’s relations with South Africa
4. New development of China’s relations with India
5. New development of China’s relations with Brazil

Eligibilities

Undergraduate, graduate or research fellows with BRICS nationality, who are not enrolled in any Chinese universities or institutions.

Eligible Regions: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Candidates and Tuition

  • Candidates: Undergraduates, graduates or research fellows.

50 candidates 20 Sponsored by the BRICS Program including tuition, registration fee, insurance fee and accommodation fee. Undergraduate, graduate or research fellows with BRICS nationality, who are not enrolled in any Chinese universities or institutions.
30 Self-financing for all items. Undergraduate, graduate or research fellows.
  • Tuition and other fees:

Accommodation fee 55 RMB/day per person

 

Notice:

  • The allocation of rooms depends on the available rooms provided by international students’ accommodation office.
  • Self-financing events on the schedule are not included in tuition. Round trip tickets between your country and China, Visa fee, meals and other personal costs should be paid by yourself. Cultural trips around Shanghai are self-financing events. The travel expenses are to be confirmed.

The duration period for sending materials and recommending students by partner universities is from April 6 to May 8, 2017.

The admission namelist for the scholarship students will be published on May 12 through the BRICS Information Sharing & Exchanging Platform (www.brics-info.org).

  1. Students recommended by partner universities who are not selected as scholarship students, can contact us to be self-financing students without applying.
