AU Global Leader Scholarship at the American University aims to support international students by giving them educational access and opportunity. The university also intends to enhance international diversity and believes in global engagement. Therefore, it brings together its academic excellence and leadership development.  The AU EGL is dedicated to serve this purpose and cause positive civic and social change. When the scholars go back to their home country, they work to improve under-resourced and underserved communities. There is only one AU EGL scholarship available for fall 2019.

  • The scholarship covers full tuition, room and board at American University.
  • It is renewable for a total of four years of undergraduate study.

Eligibilities

  • The applicant must not be a citizen of the U.S. or hold a dual citizenship with the U.S.
  • The entrant must have completed their high school in/after 2017.
  • They cannot be already enrolled in any post-secondary studies.
  • Preference will be given to students who were in the top 10% of their class and have shown commitment to leadership, volunteerism, community service and to advancing the needs of people in their home country.
  • Students who have less than 95 TOEFL or 7.0 IELTS are not eligible.
  • IB students must have at least 3 HL subjects and British A-levels students need to have at least 3 A-levels.
