Youth Leadership Academy aims to equip aspiring young Malaysians with skills and coaching that will empower them to become successful leaders of change. It is a program that consists of 4 main pillars to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to fulfill one’s potential.
There will be a total of 3 workshops and 3 training sessions (dates and format subject to change according to COVID-19 developments), all held on a Saturday. Workshops will be held on July 10, August 7, and September 18, 2021, and Training sessions on June 26, July 24, and August 28, 2021.

There will be 3 workshops supplemented by 3 training sessions, to build problem-solving and leadership capabilities. The sessions will be led by McKinsey & Company consultants who will teach how to approach, dissect and tackle problems through problem-solving methods they use in their engagements, with support from distinguished speakers that will inspire and instill confidence.
A speaker series, wherein influential leaders in Malaysia share experiences from their leadership journeys, and small steps that can be taken to achieve ambitions.
A social entrepreneurship project that will be defined, developed and piloted by the participant team. A McKinsey & Company faculty member will be the project adviser throughout this project to support the participants as they turn ideas into clear initiatives and actions.
The personal mentoring/coaching segment will be from a host of distinguished mentors, who will share their experiences on topics ranging from career choices and work-life balance to what made them leaders today.

Eligibilities
- YLA is a diverse and select group of up to 50 of the most talented and driven Malaysian full-time students currently studying at a university in Malaysia.
- They are looking for candidates who have demonstrated strong leadership potential, personal drive, and a passion and energy for making a difference in our community and country.
- The field of studying is not a concern (law, engineering, accounting, interior design, etc) as they are interested in the leadership potential, a strong sense of achievement, and track record of wanting to be a leader and making a change.
- The age limit is 28 years old.
