The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. The Research Analyst will work at the  Strategy and Knowledge Department (SKD), the mandate of which is to enable IFAD to increase its impact on international fora and debates, to help create enabling conditions for rural poverty eradication in a context of inclusive and sustainable rural transformation, as well as to proactively foster innovative and effective solutions to rural poverty within country programs.

Under the overall guidance as well as the direct supervision of the Associate Vice President, SKD, the Research Analyst is responsible for providing input into and the writing of analytical and strategic documents related to SKD’s mandate. His/her accountability/key results are:

  • Analytical and technical contribution
  • Research writing
  • Partnership building

Expected salary range : USD 37,000 – USD 80,000.

Eligibilities

Education

  • Advanced university degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics, Applied Economics or related field. A PhD in the above mentioned subjects is highly desirable.

Experience

  • At least 2 years progressively responsible experience in development institutions, government service and/or academia with demonstrated understanding of development initiatives.

Language requirement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Working knowledge of another official language (Arabic, French, or Spanish) is desirable.
