This position is located in the Programme Office in the Kyrgyz Republic (POKGZ) with duty station in Bishkek, under the Regional Office for Central Asia (ROCA), Division for Operations (DO), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator leading the project EU/UNODC project entitled “Support to Justice Sector Reform in the Kyrgyz Republic: Advancing Probation and Integrated Justice Information Management (JUST4ALL)” and under the overall guidance and supervision of the Programme Coordinator heading the Programme Office in the Kyrgyz Republic (POKGZ). Additionally, the incumbent will report to the Programme Coordinator in ROCA.

Eligibilities
- Education: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international development, law, political science, social sciences or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in project management is required. Work experience in the design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects in the area of rule of law, human rights, gender equality, crime prevention, criminal justice or related area is required. Work experience with development methodologies, including participatory approaches to strategic planning, strategic management and the management of institutional change is desirable. Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting tools and methods is desirable. Work experience with international organizations, high-level government officials representing central governmental bodies and local administrations is desirable. Work experience in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
- Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English and Russian is required. Knowledge of Kyrgyz language is desirable. Knowledge of another United Nations Official language is an advantage.
- Assessment: Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise and a competency based interview.
- Special Notice: This is a project post. Filling of this position is subject to funding availability and the initial appointment will be for a period of one year. Extension of the appointment is subject to extension of the mandate and/or the availability of the funds.
