The Africa Region of the World Bank Group (WBG) is announcing the seventh Africa Fellowship Program for PhD students and recent graduates who are from Sub Saharan counties. The program intends to attract young African minds to the World Bank Group workplace.
The chosen fellows will be working in different units of the World Bank, in regional offices or in the World Bank Group (WBG) offices in Washington D.C. The program this year is supported by Think Africa Partnership (TAP), the FCV Fund, as well as IDA resources of the WBG Africa region.
Started in 2013 by the World Bank Africa Vice President Makhtar Diop, the fellowship program aims to build a pipeline of Sub-Saharan African researchers and professionals, particularly women, who are interested in working in the development field at home or abroad, and in starting careers with the WBG. Many graduates of the program have gone on to join the WBG, and others have pursued promising development careers around the world.

Eligibilities
- The applicant must be under the age of 32 on October 5th 2018.
- The candidate should be excellent in English, both written and verbal.
- The entrant must be a Sub Saharan national.
- Only Ph.D. graduates, or current doctoral students within a year of completing or graduating from a Ph.D. program are eligible for this fellowship. The field of study should be relevant to development.
