The SparkUp Initiative is a transformative capacity-building program designed to strengthen women-led organizations by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to succeed in fundraising. This fellowship is explicitly designed as a transformative journey that moves beyond basic training, offering a structured, two-month intensive experience to build organizational resilience and financial sustainability. The ultimate goal is to enable women leaders to transition from relying primarily on local or unpredictable funding to confidently engaging with the global funding landscape, including major international foundations and public institutions.

The core purpose of the SparkUp Initiative is to impart the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools required to compete successfully for global grants. It recognizes that impactful local work often stalls due to a lack of strategic fundraising systems. To address this, the program is sector-agnostic, welcoming organizations working in any thematic area—be it education, health, gender equity, environmental justice, economic empowerment, or indigenous rights to create an inclusive and diverse learning environment.

The program structure is inherently practical and implementation-focused. It combines three key components: interactive online group sessions that serve as high-impact workshops; one-on-one mentorship with seasoned fundraising experts who provide personalized guidance tailored to each organization’s unique context and goals; and peer learning and exchange among the fellows themselves, fostering a collaborative, global community of women leaders who share challenges and best practices.

The fellowship is a comprehensive support system for women leaders who are ready to scale their impact. It is a strategic investment in leadership and organizational development, enabling these organizations to not only survive but thrive. By the close of the program, fellows are expected to have a solid fundraising plan, refined project concepts, and the heightened capacity to successfully navigate the complexities of global grant applications, positioning them for long-term growth and sustained community impact.
