Applications are invited for Asia-Euro Policy Dialogue Fellowship Program for exchanges among ASEAN, Europe and Japan for the fiscal year 2017. Asia-Euro Policy Dialogue (AEPD) is the global policy research project, which aims to encourage exchanges among ASEAN countries, Europe and Japan on Southeast Asia’s current reality and beyond.

The Fellowship Program is to encourage intellectual exchanges among Japan, ASEAN, and Europe, with the aim to provide deeper and wider networking opportunities to the fellows.

Benefits

The grant for the duration of the Fellowship Period will be provided to the fellow by the respective core institution as follows, subject to the condition that the grant shall be provided to the fellow in accordance with the rules and regulations of the fellow’s home core institution.

Eligibilities

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • This Fellowship Program is open to the mid-career level researchers conducting relevant and contemporary policy research or policy makers to whose career development such research will contribute. Possible topics may be transnational issues affecting ASEAN region and its partners such as environment, geographical security issues, social inequalities and economic growth.
  • Applicants must hold nationality in either Japan, countries of ASEAN or those of EU.
  • Applicants must be in good health.
  • Applicants must hold nationality in either Japan, countries of ASEAN or those of EU.
Eligible Regions: Japan, ASEAN and EU countries.

Application Process

Application materials are curriculum vitae, a research plan (see instructions below) and two letters of reference. They should be submitted to the applicant’s home core institution by the end of August 2017.

  • Name, Nationality, Date of Birth, Sex and Current Institutional Affiliation
  • Education (degrees, institutions, dates)
  • Employment History (rank, institutions, dates)
  • Honors and Awards e. Significant Publications/Scholarly Works

The research plan (its sample form is attached as Exhibit 2) should include the following:

  • Statement of the project theme, goals and contribution/significance of the project
  • Expected output or product from the research and dissemination plan (report, publications etc.)
  • Project Timeline
