Global Peace Foundation Nepal (GPF-Nepal) seeks participants for ‘Global Peace Youth Exchange 2017’ with the theme ‘Youth for Change’ which is scheduled to be conducted in Nepal from 19th – 28th of April this year. Global Peace Youth Exchange is an initiative of Global Peace Foundation Nepal in association with Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) and features various programs from an international conference to a week long trek to the remote Himalayas.  Energetic and enthusiastic youths from all around the world above the age of 18 years can apply for the exchange program.

Global Peace Youth Exchange (GPYE) is scheduled to be organized from 19th to 28th of April 2017.  GPYE gathers together the brightest and energetic young people from all around the world in Nepal who have determination to be the change they want to see in the world by learning from the very grass root level.

Participants will gather in the city of Kathmandu to participate in Asia Pacific Peace & Development Service Alliance; it is an international conference which aims to discuss and promote global peace by gathering young ideas around the world and help resolute the problems that currently threatens global peace.

After that the participants will be taken to a service camp in Dhading; a district outside Kathmandu which was hard hit by the 2015 Nepal earthquake to study and engage in the reconstruction activities there. After spending a night there participants will head to the famous trekking route ‘Poon Hill’ enjoying adventurous activities like rafting along the way.

Program Highlights:

  1. Participation in South Asia Sub-Regional Forum on Youth Volunteerism to Promote Participation, Development, and Peace also known as APPDSA in Kathmandu.
  2. Cultural Expedition: UNESCO Heritage sites and Ashram and Buddhist monastery.
  3. Adventure Trekking: Ghorepani – Poonhill – Ghandruk route of Annapurna Conservation Area.
  4. Water Activities: Rafting at the Trishuli River and boating at the Fewa lake of Pokhara Valley.
  5. Youth Service Project: Interaction with Dhading Earthquake Community.
  6. Cultural Exchange Camp Fire
  7. Nature Exploration and Sight Seeing: Nagarkot and Poon Hill, Davis Fall, K.I. Singh Bridge, natural caves and much more.

Eligibilities

Participants from all over the world above the age of 18 years can apply for the exchange program.
