The Y7 Summit 2017 is taking place in Rome from Sunday May 7 to Tuesday May 9 2017. The theme of the Summit will be “Rethinking Innovation as catalyst for an inclusive, open and sustainable growth”. This theme is in line with one of the three pillars of the G7 Italian Presidency: “Innovation, Skills and Labour in the Age of the Next Production Revolution”. During the Summit, the youth delegates will produce a Final Communiqué that will be handed over to the Italian G7 Presidency.

A key part of YEL delegates’ mission is to inform and inspire. As representatives of European youth at this global policymaking event, the delegation’s aim is to share their insights of the issues tackled at the Y7 with an international community of young people.

As such, delegates, are expected to contribute to media outputs, such as photos, articles, blogs and videos. Delegates will define the themes they wish to tackle, the format of media outputs and contribute to the promotion strategy with the support of the YEL delegation project lead.

Eligibilities

YEL is recruiting 4 delegates to represent the European Union at the Y7 negotiations. Delegates must be aged between 18-27 at the time of the Summit. Delegates must be able to attend the Summit for its entire duration and the pre-negotiations online on a regular basis. These pre-negotiations will be held online during the month of April.
