IBRO World Congress Travel Grants 2019 is for high-quality neuroscientists from diverse geographic and scientific areas who wish to attend the 10th IBRO World Congress taking place in Daegu, South Korea from 21-25 September 2019.

IBRO is the global federation of neuroscience organizations that aims to promote and support neuroscience around the world through training, teaching, collaborative research, outreach and advocacy. IBRO World Congress Travel Grants is one such initiative. More than 90 international, national and regional scientific organisations constitute IBRO’s Governing Council which, together with the five IBRO Regional Committees, address the needs and advance the work of individual scientists and research communities everywhere. In addition, IBRO has partnerships with like-minded scientific societies and organisations to identify priorities and help bridge gaps in knowledge, investment and resources in the field of brain research.

  • Governing Council
    The Governing Council is the governing body of IBRO. It determines the policies and programs of IBRO and directs their implementation and conduct. The Governing Council is empowered to take all steps necessary to fulfil its function. It may enter into contracts that IBRO may lawfully make. The Governing Council may make suitable arrangements for co-operation with other organizations. The Chair of the Governing Council is the IBRO President.
  • Executive Committee
    The Executive Committee works with the Secretary-General to implement the initiatives of the Governing Council. The Executive Committee makes decisions about the acceptance of Member Organizations of IBRO and elects Directors for the various programmes mandated by the Governing Council, and Liaison Officers with other organizations, and receives their reports. The Executive Committee will make temporary appointments of officers and committee members when necessary.

Eligibilities

  • At least one letter of reference is required in order to be considered for this grant. Two is ideal.
  • Priority is given to those who have not received an IBRO travel grant within the past three years.
