CARE is one of the world’s leading international humanitarian and development organizations, committed to helping people in poor communities improve their lives and alleviate poverty. Founded in 1945, CARE is working across 95 countries to fight global poverty and marginalization.

CARE has been active in Bangladesh since 1949 being one of the largest country offices of CARE. CARE works to help people achieve social and economic well-being while being among the best in their fields. CARE put women and girls at the center of their work because they know that they cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. CARE Bangladesh is currently shifting towards a program approach, where it has developed longer-term impact visions to have more sustainable changes in the lives of the extreme poor and marginalized.

With the generous funding from Danish government CARE Bangladesh introduce a SPA-funded country program for Bangladesh for civil society strengthening and engagement with the government for improved disaster risk reduction hereby addressing the severe impact of climate change for refugees and host communities. This program will primarily target the host communities around Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar but will also build stronger cohesion and dialogue between host and refugee communities in the area. The working title for the program is” Accountable Governance for Disaster Risk Reduction & Improved social cohesion between the host community and refugees in Cox’s Bazar.”

With guidance from the Project Manager, the Project Officer will be responsible day to day implementation of the project activities and support partner in the completion of project activities in a timely manner.
