Abt Associates is looking for Finance Officer , Bangladesh Nutrition Activity 2021 in Dhaka.

The Finance Officer will assist the Director Finance and successfully completing the financial duties required for the project. These duties will include budgeting, procurement oversight, and records management. This position will be responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial reporting and assist in the preparation of monthly financial spreadsheets, cash flow forecasts, data entry, corresponding with vendors as appropriate, and ensuring the BNA regional hub sites follow Abt Associates and USAID financial procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the processing of financial transactions and the application of proper accounting principles and standards, internal controls, and financial file management; maintenance of QuickBooks; generation of monthly financial reports and general support to project activities.
  • Prepare check and journal vouchers, ensuring accuracy of account codes and completeness of supporting documents.
  • Manage the process of clearing bills, payments, and vouchers, including a review and certification of supporting documentation to ensure it is compliant with local tax laws, as well as USAID and Abt Associates policies.
  • Manage the timely submission of the monthly field expenses (ROV) to Abt headquarters.
  • Ensure that statutory and tax reporting requirements are complied with local laws.
  • Support the development, execution, and management of subcontractor and consulting agreements.

Eligibilities

  • Preferred Qualifications/ Pre-requisites
    • B.A. in Accounting or related field required and 4 years of experience
    • A Certified Public Accountant preferred
    • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in similar position
    • Familiarity with USAID regulations
    • Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software preferred
    • Demonstrated personal and professional integrity
    • Proficiency in Excel and MS Word
    • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with teams
  • Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree + Two years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree
