Internship Opportunity at BRAC 2019.

BRAC is looking Interns for Innovation Ecosystem and Partnerships. This internship is intended to give fresh graduates practical, hands-on experience in the area of Innovation Ecosystem and Partnerships. Every year, BRAC hosts an international conference titled Frugal Innovation Forum. In 2020, Frugal Innovation Forum will focus on a specific theme, inviting local and global development practitioners, tech companies, think-tanks, government officials, research institutions, innovators and entrepreneurs to engage in a 3 day long residential international conference in Bangladesh.

Programme/Enterprise Description: 
At Social Innovation Lab (SIL), they test new ideas, design prototypes, learn and share what works and what doesn’t in solving the most complex social problems, as part one of the largest development organisation in the world. Since 2011, SIL is working as a knowledge and experimentation hub and has been continuously supporting BRAC for tomorrow’s challenges by capitalising on emerging opportunities and catalysing innovation throughout the organisation.

Intern’s Responsibilities:
 Develop and execute plans for pre and post-conference communication with different stakeholders;
 Establish and maintain strategic relationships with global peers, internal and external stakeholders;
 Develop and improve drafts for internal and external content;
 Design quick digital communication materials (blog/infographic/video/posters etc;
 Develop strategic content for specific webpage and social media;
 Engage with project stakeholders through sessions, consultation and online communication;
 Research best global practices that can be adopted in BRAC context;
 Document lessons learned and share them in simple & useful formats.

Duration: 5 Months
Starting Date: December 15, 2019
Location & Floor: 20th Floor, BRAC Head Office
Working Hours: 8:30 am – 5.00 pm, (Sunday to Thursday)

Eligibilities

a) Educational Background:
 Level: Bachelor’s degree
 Subject: Business / Social Sciences / Engineering / Medicine / Public Health / Economics /Liberal Arts / Development Studies / Literature / Mass Communications and Journalism from any reputed University.

b) Language Proficiency:
Bangla
 Spoken: Proficient
 Written: Good
English
 Spoken: Fluent
 Written: Advanced

c) Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
 IT skills (MS Office, simple infographic/video making software)
 Familiarity with managing digital media, partnerships and relationships
 Excellent writing and analytical skills
 Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Premier Pro etc.
 An agile mindset
 Ability to prioritise under strict deadlines
 Strong discipline for producing better deliverables
 Sincere commitment to ‘doing good’

d) Work/Volunteering Experience:
Experience in writing blog posts, leadership, working in a multicultural environment,
organising idea challenges/hackathons is preferred.

e) Reference:
Please include 2 professional/academic referees who know you in a professional capacity and have a strong understanding of your work ethics, achievements and improvement areas. The referee should be able to comment on your experience relevant to the
responsibilities mentioned.
