Unleash Hacks Bangladesh Competition 2020.

About UNLEASH HACKS BANGLADESH (SDG 8 & 9): The Bangladesh Hack will focus on SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 9, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. By fostering entrepreneurship, bridging the digital divide, and spurring innovation, the Hack plans to support brilliant ideas on how to contain the adverse impact of Covid-19 as well as improve employability, productivity, and access to finance, education and technology of workers and entrepreneurs.
Set in a Prototyping Format, the Hack invites idea leaders with an existing idea and young changemakers with specific skills to collaborate in building new iterations and testing an existing solution.
UNLEASH is a non-profit founded in 2016 with the aim of developing solutions to the SDGs and building capacity for young people from around the world. UNLEASH offers four different programs: A Global Innovation Lab for the SDGs taking place every year and gathering 1,000 young people, UNLEASH+, a pre-accelerator program for teams who have participated in the Innovation Lab, A Storyteller Lab for emerging impact journalists, and UNLEASH Hacks, which are localized hackathons.
Since 2017, UNLEASH has conducted its acceleration and innovation lab over the span of three countries in Denmark, Singapore, and China. Currently, It boasts an enriched Alumni network of 3000+ talents.

Eligibilities

Talents are selected based on five criteria.

  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to solving the world’s pressing challenges
  • Possession of a creative and innovative mindset
  • Willingness to engage in co-creation with peers and experts
  • High proficiency in English with the ability to engage in complex discussions
  • Approximately 20-35 years old
  • Bonus: Direct experience working in a development context, e.g. field work

Application Process

This is a Prototyping Hack that will focus on SDG 8 & 9. You can apply in two ways: 1) as an “Idea Leader” who presents solution concepts to an audience of young talents and experts, that then join their teams to prototype the ideas in actionable and testable ways or 2) as an “Idea Shaper”, a young talent who helps “Idea Leaders” to prototype their ideas with their team. Applicants can apply under 4 relevant sub-themes:

  4. Technology
