UIU Photography Club is going to organize Shutter Stories 2020.

Categories 
Single Photos:
Single photos can be submitted in the following fields of photography,
A. Portrait
B. Nature, Landscape and Wildlife
C. Conceptual
D. Street and Lifestyle
E. Current Affairs

Photo Series/Story:
Photo stories in the domain of journalism, personal stories, creative/conceptual storytelling are acceptable.

Photo Submission for “Shutter Stories: Chapter IV” is now OPEN. For your convenience, they strongly suggest going through the event details especially “SUBMISSION PROCEDURE” & “TERMS AND CONDITIONS” sections.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
● Submission of photos exhibited previously is strongly discouraged.
● Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud.
● The photograph must be the sole work of the entrant. By entering, the entrant confirms that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, and claim in the photograph.
● The photograph must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
● Photographers will be notified about the registration process. If any ‘selected’ photographer fails to complete the registration process within the registration deadline his/her photograph(s) will be disqualified.

● UIU Photography Club holds the right to examine the authenticity of the photograph/source material in order to confirm compliance with these rules.
● UIU Photography Club can use the submitted photographs for promotional activities, but UIUPC will not use any photograph for business purpose.

Awards in various categories are-
● Single Photos: Winner, first runner-up and second runner-up selected from each of the categories will be awarded a crest and a certificate;
● Photo Story: The best Photo Story will be awarded a crest and a certificate.

Eligibilities

Any photographer is eligible for the contest. All submitted work must be the original work of the photographer.

Application Process

Photographs should be submitted ONLY through the following emails:

01. Photo Renaming: (IMPORTANT)

• For Single Photo:

Number of Photo _Photographers Full Name_Contact Number _Category

Example: 01_Amit Biswas_017********_Portrait

• For Photo Story:

All the photos of the story must be renamed like 1.jpeg 2.jpeg as per photographers’ required order. Then the photos must be compressed in a ZIP format. A doc file should be attached in the zip file describing the story. THIS IS A MUST. The zip file should be renamed as follows,

03. Both DSLR and Mobile Photos are allowed.

04. Both Color and B&W (Monochrome) Photos are allowed.

05. All entries must be in. JPEG or. JPG format and must have a minimum resolution of 300DPI. Each file must not exceed 25MB.

06. Each Photographer can submit a maximum of 15 photos altogether in Single Category.

07. For Photo Story/Series, the number of photos per story is 5 to 10. A photographer can submit at most 2 stories.

08. Only minor burning, dodging and/or colour correction is acceptable, as is cropping. Any digital manipulation will be accepted only for submissions in the Conceptual Category and in Photo Story/Series. All manipulated images that contain composite content (a bird or clouds added later to the scene for example) must be shot by the photographer/artist. Judges may ask for proof of authenticity.

09. Borders/ Watermarks/ Signature/ logo in the photograph is not acceptable.

10. Only Digital Submission is allowed.

Entry Fees are as follows,
● 1200BDT for each selected photograph in the Single Category
● 700BDT for each photo of selected Photo Story i.e. for 5 photos in a Single Story, total payable amount is (5 x 700) = 3500BDT
